Video description: MARANATHA Global Bible Study // The Book Of Revelation. Session 58: Debunking Jerusalem as the Great Harlot.
Before I begin my review of Joel Richardson’s explanations, let me declare that I do these type of reviews, not just to expose false teachers; but to show what they teach, which you may have also been taught, so that you can see the truth and the deception.
These reviews serve as an open rebuttal of their explanations. It’s not about me, it’s about the truth of prophecy fulfillment which reveals the glory of our beloved Messiah!
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that the harlot represents the greatest false religion.
He points to Islam as it’s the biggest false religion, but it’s the Roman Catholic Church which has effectively spanned from the first century until today.
After Simon Magus, the sorcerer who tried to buy the power of the Holy Spirit, was rebuked by Peter, Simon went to Rome to feign to be an apostle of Messiah. He mixed the veneer of the Scriptural faith with the Babylonian Mystery Religion. Simon Magus was essentially the first Roman pope as it wasn’t Peter, and his false Christian religion is referred to by the Apostle Paul as the mystery of iniquity in 2 Thessalonians 2. Watch The Mystery Of Iniquity video.
The Roman Catholic Church is the tares church that the enemy planted to seek to crowd out the wheat church of Messiah.
Emperor Constantine and the Roman bishops codified the false Christian religion of Romanism in the fourth century.
This Roman Catholic Church is the harlot church of Revelation 17 which is led by the antichrist beast popes. Read Prophecy Points To The Roman Catholic Church Study
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that last week he debunked the preterist position that Jerusalem is the harlot of Revelation.
Here’s the link to that video review: Joel Richardson FAI STUDIOS Jerusalem the Bride & Babylon the Great Harlot
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that this week he will debunk the futurist Jerusalem position that Jerusalem is the harlot of Revelation.
What Joel doesn’t do is explain the historicist perspective of prophecy fulfillment, which proves that the Roman Catholic Church is the harlot of Revelation. Read Revelation 17 – Mystery Babylon
In this series of videos, he only focuses on the futurist and preterist explanations, which effectively hides the historicist explanations.
Here’s a study that shows that Jerusalem is not Babylon, from a historicist perspective. Proof That Jerusalem Is Not Babylon In Revelation
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that Jerusalem represents the Jews.
There are two groups of Torah Jews who vehemently disagree with that statement.
They believe that the Ashkenazi Jews have illegitimately seized the name “Israel” and have no right to speak in the name of the Jewish people!
They believe that contemporary sovereignty over the Holy Land belongs to those who have lived there for centuries, the Palestinians. They desire to live in peace and harmony with their Muslim Brethren, as their ancestors did.
You can read more about them at these websites:
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that in Revelation, Jerusalem represents the backslidden fallen people of God, the Jews, who will be redeemed when all is said and done.
This statement is off-target, as Revelation gives the historical narrative of two women, the harlot church of Rome which is called ‘Mystery Babylon the Great’ and the bride of Messiah, which is called Holy Jerusalem.
Holy Jerusalem is made up of believing Jews and Gentiles.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that Babylon is the city of Satan.
In another video, he declares that Peter proclaimed that Rome is Babylon. Indeed it is, as Rome is the seat of Satan, called the great city in Revelation. It is home to the antichrist beast popes and their harlot Roman Catholic Church.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios gives an example of someone who is Muslim, pretending to be Christian, trying to convert people to Islam.
That’s an interesting analogy, as that’s the mission of the harlot Roman Catholic Church which pretends to be the church of Messiah, but deceives people with a false Gospel of works through the sacraments and a false intercessor in Mary.
The harlot Roman Catholic Church has misled billions of Catholics and they have pushed many people away from Messiah and the Bible because of the rapes of their priests.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios gives an example of proclaiming to a Catholic that they’re the part of the great whore, which will turn them away.
That’s not the proper approach and it’s silly for him to make this statement.
We have to show them how the teachings of their popes are contrary to Scripture. We have to show them that the Roman Catholic Church is teaching a false Gospel. We have to show them that the Roman Catholic Church is pointing to a false intercessor in Mary.

Joel Richardson of FAI Studios gives example of disagreeing with modern rabbinic Judaism, which is very different than saying that you are the embodiment of Satan.
That’s an interesting analogy, as Messiah foretold the Jews in the end times in Revelation 3:9, saying that they are “of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie.”
The Israeli Supreme Court building has many Satanic Masonic symbols, including a pyramid with the all-seeing eye of Satan on it and an obelisk which is a phallic symbol of the pagan sun god.
Jewish leaders revere the Babylonian Talmud which says vile things about Messiah, His mother and His saints and the Satanic Egyptian Kabbalah which contains sorcery.
And the Satanic HEXagram is on the Israeli flag because Satanist Lord Rothschild put it there, as the Rothschild’s have controlled the land since the Balfour Agreement. Here’s Lord Rothschild on the right.
But you don’t hear of this information from Joel Richardson or Dalton Thomas, as they blindly support the Jews in Israel.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that Revelation 12 is about Israel.
No, that is a false premise, as Revelation is about the birth of Messiah’s Ekklesia of saints, both Jews and Gentiles, whose birth was painful as Satan used the Roman Emperors to persecute the saints during ten persecution periods. The last one from 303-312 AD, was the most painful as Diocletian sought to wipe out Messiah’s church.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios cites Revelation 18:22-23, and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride.
Joel says that Islam is the harlot of Revelation, but has the voice of the bride or bridegroom ever been in the religion of Islam? No!
But there are Scriptural believers in the harlot Roman Catholic Church as the light of Messiah has shined upon them. But He commands them to come out of her, as he judgment draws nigh.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that it is our call as Christians to pray for the peace and safety of Jerusalem.
Indeed it is, but Joel is pointing to the wrong Jerusalem and the wrong Israel.
In Romans, the Apostle Paul declares that a true Israelite is one who has a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son.
In Revelation, the saints are called Holy Jerusalem. So we should be praying for the peace and safety of the saints!

Joel Richardson of FAI Studios say Revelation 18 describes the harlot as a port city.
No it does not! It describes her purchases, and we see that fulfilled by the harlot Roman Catholic Church, which has spend an enormous amount of money building her many ornate basilicas.
You can view images of these lavish art museums, which are full of graven images that are forbidden in the second commandment, which symbolize the pagan gods of the Babylonian Mystery Religion under the veneer of the Scriptural faith; on this Wikipedia page that lists the different Catholic basilicas.
Click on the links in the second paragraph for the major basilicas of St John Lateran, St Peter’s, St Paul outside the Walls, and St Mary Major; and then click on the picture on the right to see many photos of the basilica. You see the marble, ivory, fine wood, brass, iron, gold, silver, etc., that John lists in Revelation 18:12-13. You see the wealth that has been spent on these lavish basilicas, which rival the best art museums in the world.
The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
You see the items that are used during the unscriptural Roman Catholic Church sacraments, as they use cinnamon and frankincense to burn incense for the Queen of Heaven, the priests drink the wine during the blasphemous Eucharist ceremony, they use anointing oil and ointments, and the flour is used in the Eucharist wafers.
No other entity fits the description of Revelation 18 like the Roman Catholic Church, whose has enriched the merchants of the earth, from which she made her purchases.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios cites Revelation 11:8 to say that Jerusalem is called the great city.
The narrative of Revelation can seem confusing when we try to apply it to what’s going on in the world today. This is why Messiah gave the narrative from John’s perspective in the first century so that we have a solid frame of reference for what the terms meant in John’s day.
Messiah declared this perspective in Revelation 1:19, Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.
‘Things that thou has seen’ points to what John saw in the past. ‘Things which are’ points to the current circumstances when Revelation was written. And then the things which shall be hereafter are future from John’s perspective. Messiah did this because it gives us a precise timestamp to be able to understand the prophecies.
The great city of John’s day was Rome. Read Revelation Is From John’s Perspective
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios cites Revelation 11:2 to say that Jerusalem is the holy city.
So he’s saying that Jerusalem is both the holy city and the great city. That’s false, as they’re describing two very different entities, which war against each other.
Revelation 11:1-2 were primarily fulfilled by Martin Luther, who used the rule of Scripture to compare what the popes teach against the Word. He found that the Roman Catholic Church is an apostate church that teaches a false gospel, so it’s a gentile church and not a part of the true temple of Messiah.
The holy city is pointing to Messiah’s saints, called Holy Jerusalem, which were persecuted by the antichrist beast popes and their harlot Roman Catholic Church, which are called the great city.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios cites the Venerable Bede, saying “for there are two cities in the world, the one proceeding from the abyss, the other from heaven.”
Joel left out some of Bede’s quote and only used the part which supports his narrative that it’s about two physical cities, which is misleading.
Here’s the whole quote: So also below, when he was bidden to behold the Lamb’s wife, he saw the holy city coming down from heaven; and when he described it, he said, “And the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it.” For there are two cities in the world, the one proceeding from the abyss, the other from heaven. And therefore he now compares the same ungodliness, which he had described under the appearance of a harlot naked and burned up, with the ruins of a deserted city.
Bede is proclaiming that one of the cities in Holy Jerusalem, which represents the Lamb’s wife. The other city is the great city of the harlot Roman Catholic church, who will be exposed and burned during her pending judgment.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that throughout the final 3 1/2 years, during all of the great tribulation, Jerusalem is called in the book of Revelation the holy city.
Here are the verses in Revelation that mention Jerusalem.
Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
John is clearly describing Holy Jerusalem, whose citizens are the followers of Messiah, not the physical city in Jerusalem, so once again Joel is misleading people.
As for great tribulation during the last 3 1/2 years, that is another false statement, for all of the times of tribulation that are mentioned in the Olivet Discourse and Revelation have already been fulfilled.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios says that Revelation 17 applies to the blood of the saints being poured out in the end times.
Joel makes the prophecies in Revelation all about the end times, but that is a false narrative as most of the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled in exacting detail during the last 1,900 years. Read Revelation Timeline
As for the reference to the harlot being drunk with the blood of the saints, that was fulfilled during the Dark Ages and Inquisition, when the antichrist beast popes used Catholics in their harlot church of Rome to torture and kill tens of millions of saints.
But Joel makes no mention of that or the many saints which have witnesses against the popes and their harlot church.
Joel Richardson of FAI Studios cites Matthew 23 when Messiah proclaims that judgment is coming on the Jewish nation for all of the righteous blood they shed, and applies that to the Jews in that generation, but then He teaches that the Olivet Discourse is about the end times.
That’s a huge disconnect! Messiah was declaring that the Jewish nation would be judged and that their temple would be destroyed, in that generation.
Jerusalem, the temple and the Jewish nation were destroyed in that generation, during the Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD.
All of the prophecies from Matthew 23:34 to Matthew 24:35 were fulfilled in that generation. They are not about the end times.
Joel Richardson and Dalton Thomas teach a futuristic fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9, the Olivet Discourse and the prophecies in Revelation.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 is about Messiah’s ministry and His blood sacrifice as the Spotless Lamb to atone for our sins. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
The Olivet Discourse foretold the events that would lead to the desolation of Jerusalem, the second temple and the Jewish nation; as punishment for the Jewish leaders continuing in rebellion against the Heavenly Father and for delivering His Son up to be killed. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
Most of the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled in exacting detail during the last 1,900 years. It describes the historical narrative of the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom (pagan Emperors > antichrist beast Popes > false prophet Jesuit Superior Generals) fighting against Messiah and His saints.
The explanations of Joel Richardson and Dalton Thomas serve to deflect blame away from the enemy in Rome, and to mislead the end-times saints so that they’re not prepared for how the end-times will play out, and don’t know the context of Messiah’s return.
