Times Of Great Tribulation In Bible Prophecy

This Revelation Timeline Decoded Bible study shows how the prophecies about times of ‘great tribulation’ have already been fulfilled.

People point to a futuristic time of great tribulation, but all of the prophecies that they point to have already been fulfilled. That’s not to say that there won’t be tribulation, as WW III, a worldwide economic collapse and the One World Government; will happen in the future.

Here’s short summaries of the fulfillment of the Bible prophecies which point to times of great tribulation, and links are provided to more detailed studies.

The 70th week of Daniel 9 was fulfilled from 27-34 AD, during which Messiah carried out His ministry and offered himself as a sacrifice for our sins.

People point to a futuristic 70th week of Daniel, the 7-year tribulation period, which features a one-man antichrist figure; but that is a deception from the enemy, to deflect blame away from the antichrist beast Popes of Rome.

There will be no future 7-year tribulation period, as the 70th week of Daniel was fulfilled on time, after the 69th week; when Messiah and His disciples confirmed with the Jews (for seven years) that He is the promised Messiah who ratified the everlasting covenant with His blood, as the Passover Lamb.

The seven years ended after the Jewish leaders stoned Stephen to death, marking their final rejection of their promised Messiah. Then the book of Acts clearly shows a dramatic shift, as the Gospel was also preached to the Gentile nations.

The Time of Jacob’s Trouble in Daniel 12 was fulfilled from 66-70 AD, when the temple, city and the Jews, were desolated by the Roman army.

Daniel was distraught, as he had been told in the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy, that his people (the Jews) would be released to rebuild the temple and city; only to reject the promised Messiah and deliver Him up to be killed; and that the temple, city and Jews would be desolated because of it.

So the angel gave Daniel some details in Daniel 12, saying that the elect, those who accept the Messiah, will be saved; and that those who reject Him would be desolated during the time of Jacob’s Trouble.

During the 3 1/2 years from 66-70 AD, 1.1 million Jews died in and around Jerusalem from famine, pestilence, infighting, suicide, evisceration and by the Roman sword; and the temple was destroyed.

Messiah’s warning of great tribulation in His Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) was fulfilled in that generation, just like He proclaimed.

Messiah was pointing back to the prophecies of Daniel, which foretold that the Roman army would desolate the temple and city.

In Matthew 23, Messiah berated the Jewish leaders, and told them that all of the righteous blood would come upon them, in that generation. Then He proclaimed that all that He described in His Olivet Discourse, would be fulfilled in that generation.

This prophecy, like Daniel 12, points to the time of trouble for the Jewish nation during the Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD.

Revelation 7:14 is pointing to the martyrs who were killed by the Roman Emperors.

“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

Satan used the Roman Emperors to try to wipe out the Early Church during ten persecution periods, from Nero until 312 AD, killing millions of saints.

The 5th Seal pointed to ten years of harsh persecution of the saints by the Roman Empire, from 303-312 A.D.

The harshest persecution period happened during the 10th persecution period, which lasted 10 years from 303-312 A.D., when Emperor Dioclecian tried to wipe out the saints. The ten days of the fifth seal pointed to those 10 years of tribulation for the saints.

These saints aren’t actually under the altar crying out, but the symbolism of their spilt blood cried out for vengeance against the Roman Empire; which was answered during the seal judgments, which led to the decline of the Roman Empire through bloody civil wars, economic strife, famine and pestilence; and the trumpet judgments, as army after army were sent against the Roman Empire, causing its fall.

The 1,260 Days in Daniel 7 and Revelation were fulfilled during the 1,260 year reign of the antichrist Popes, from 538-1798 A.D.

  • The Little Horn of Daniel 7 who persecuted the saints for “a time and times and the dividing of time.”
  • The period during which the holy city is trodden under foot by the Gentiles for “forty and two months” in Revelation 11.
  • The period during which the Two Witnesses in Revelation 11 prophesy for “thousand two hundred and threescore days.”
  • The Church of Christ escaping to the wilderness for “a time, and times, and half a time” in Revelation 12.
  • The reign of the sea beast for “forty and two months” in Revelation 13.
  • They are all pointing to the 1,260 year reign (1 day = 1 year) of the antichrist Popes of Rome, from 538 -1798 A.D.

History unveils that these prophecies pointed to the same 1,260 year time period of Great Tribulation, from 538-1798 A.D., during which the Popes of Rome were the reigning power in the world.
