Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that the third trumpet in Revelation 8 points to an actual meteor or asteroid striking earth, which contaminates the water.
The trumpet judgments aren’t about the end times, but they were poured out on the pagan Roman Empire, which Satan had used to persecute Messiah’s saints.
Trumpets are symbols employed to indicate war against the enemy. Elohim sent army after army to attack and conquer the different areas of the vast kingdom.
A star in prophecy symbolizes a leader. Elohim sent this great burning star, Attila the king of the Huns, who was called “the scourge of God.” Attila and his 800,000 man army rose quickly and flashed across the land in 451 AD, and desolated the Italian Alps, which is the source of the Danube, Rhine and Po rivers. The dead bodies in the rivers made the water ‘bitter’ (wormwood).

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that the Fourth trumpet he’s pointing to the actual sun being darkened.
It’s amazing to me that such as esteemed theologian doesn’t understand the symbolic language that’s being used, which was defined in the Old Testament.
Here are examples which are clearly not about the literal sun, moon and stars.
Isaiah 13:10 is referring to the Babylonian leaders being removed from power by the Medo-Persians.
“For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.“
Isaiah 13:17 confirms this with, “Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them,”
Isaiah 34:3-5 foretold the destruction of the Edomites and other nations which were enemies.
“Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.”
Ezekiel 32:6-8 points to the Babylonians desolating Egypt, removing the Pharaoh (Sun) and his leaders (moon) from power.
“I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee. And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light. All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.”
In the fourth trumpet judgment of Revelation 8, the darkening of the sun, moon and stars represents Elohim using Odoacer and the Heruli, a branch of the Goths, to cause the downfall of Roman leadership when Romulus Augustalus, the last Western Roman Emperor (the sun) of the West was captured in 476 AD. The hierarchy of Roman leaders (moon and stars) would have lost power too.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries teaches a false, futuristic fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9, the Olivet Discourse and the prophecies in Revelation.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 is about Messiah’s ministry and His blood sacrifice as the Spotless Lamb to atone for our sins. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
The Olivet Discourse foretold the events that would lead to the desolation of Jerusalem, the second temple and the Jewish nation; as punishment for the Jewish leaders continuing in rebellion against the Heavenly Father and for delivering His Son up to be killed. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
Most of the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled in exacting detail during the last 1,900 years. It describes the historical narrative of the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom (pagan Emperors > antichrist beast Popes > false prophet Jesuit Superior Generals) fighting against Messiah and His saints.
The explanations of Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries serve to deflect blame away from the enemy in Rome, and to mislead the end-times saints so that they’re not prepared for how the end-times will play out, and don’t know the context of Messiah’s return.

Wow! This man is a LIAR and many listen to him. I recently spoke with a cousin who was trained catholic and now an avid atheist. A SAD story. Many who leave the RCC leave JC behind due to major brainwashing, especially those in the military. I’ve witnessed this so many times. GB and thanks for sharing.
