This Revelation Timeline Decoded post features a video from Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries DTBM, called JESUS GIVES US A PICTURE OF WHAT THE COMING BEAST LOOKS LIKE–In Daniel’s Prophecy of Anti-Christ.
Video description: When Jesus first explained the End of Days to His disciples He used as His central point, the coming of the worst human who ever will live. The antichrist is the greatest fiend, the most powerful, destructive, evil, wicked, and harmful human who will ever live. Jesus mentions him in Matthew 24:15 (as we will see later), then cites Daniel the prophet.
Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that Matthew 24 points to Daniel and the abomination of desolation.
This is true, but Dr. John Barnett’s explanation of the fulfillment is false. Messiah’s Olivet Discourse pointed to the desolation of Jerusalem, the second temple and the Jewish nation in that generation of Jews who rejected Messiah and delivered Him up to be killed.
The abomination of desolation is defined in Luke 21:20-21, “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains.“
Josephus says that in the fall of 66 AD, Cestius and his army surrounded the temple and were ready to capture Jerusalem, and then suddenly they left for no explained reason. The Jewish rebels chased after the Romans, which gave the saints the opportunity to flee Jerusalem.
Within one generation of forty-years, Jerusalem, the temple and the Jewish nations were desolated during the Jewish-Roman War of 66-70 AD.
It’s false to apply this prophecy to the end times, when Messiah declared that all of the things that He described would take place in that generation of Jewish leaders who rejected Him and sought to kill Him.
The nine previous times that ‘this generation’ was mentioned in Matthew, all point to the people who lived during Messiah’s ministry. In Matthew 23, we see Messiah rebuking the Jewish leaders who continued in rebellion against the Heavenly Father and plotted to kill Messiah, and He proclaimed that judgment would come upon them in that generation.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries points to a seven-year tribulation.
The concept of a 7-year tribulation is based on a futuristic 70th week of Daniel, but that is a deception to fool the end times saints.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 prophecy foretold when Messiah would appear to carry out His ministry, and when (in the middle of the 70th week) He would confirm the everlasting covenant (that was mentioned in Daniel 9:4) with His blood as the Passover Lamb, to atone for our sins. It’s not about the end times or the antichrist.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that God has a plan for Israel, different from the church.
This is false! Messiah joined together the Jews and Gentiles with His work on the cross. Holy Jerusalem is made up of people of all nations who have a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son.
Messiah’s Ekklesia of saints is built on the foundation of Jews who believed in Messiah; 3,000 on the day of Pentecost and more were added daily.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries points to the fourth empire of Daniel, from which the antichrist comes.
It’s amazing that he says that, but fails to understand how the Popes of Rome fulfill prophecy as the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, fulfill Bible prophecy as the ‘little horn’ of Daniel 7, the ‘son of perdition’ of 2 Thessalonians 2, and the ‘beast’ of Revelation 13, who leads the ‘harlot’ church of Rome.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries says that the antichrist will be the worst human that will ever live, the man of sin, hates Christians.
Dr. John Barnett says, Of all who have ever hated good, hated God, and hated Christians, the Antichrist will be the pinnacle. If we were to take all of the worst persecutors, deceivers, and malignant terrorists and stew them until they boiled down to the essence of evil, the Antichrist is what would pour out: the man of sin, the son of perdition, and the false Christ.
It’s hard to comprehend that Dr. John Barnett is ignorant of how the Popes of Rome have come in the name of Jesus Christ, but have misled billions of Catholics with a false gospel, that they’ve caused Catholics to kill tens of millions of saints, that they cause Catholics to revere graven images, that they teach many concepts which are contrary to Scripture and are antichrist.

Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries teaches a false, futuristic fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9, the Olivet Discourse and the prophecies in Revelation.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 is about Messiah’s ministry and His blood sacrifice as the Spotless Lamb to atone for our sins. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
The Olivet Discourse foretold the events that would lead to the desolation of Jerusalem, the second temple and the Jewish nation; as punishment for the Jewish leaders continuing in rebellion against the Heavenly Father and for delivering His Son up to be killed. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
Most of the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled in exacting detail during the last 1,900 years. It describes the historical narrative of the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom (pagan Emperors > antichrist beast Popes > false prophet Jesuit Superior Generals) fighting against Messiah and His saints.
The explanations of Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries serve to deflect blame away from the enemy in Rome, and to mislead the end-times saints so that they’re not prepared for how the end-times will play out, and don’t know the context of Messiah’s return.
