This Revelation Timeline Decoded Bible study focuses on how prophecy points to the leader of the Roman beast.
Daniel told us that the last reigning power is Roman, which would exist until Messiah returns to destroy it; as the feet of the statue in Daniel 2 are made up of iron, with some clay mixed in. The iron in the feet is Rome, just like the iron legs represented Rome. The dreadful beast of Daniel 7 had great iron teeth, once again representing Rome.
John picked up the narrative of the Roman beast and foretold how the different phases of the beast would war against the saints.
This study will show you how Daniel, Paul and John, described the man who controls the Roman beast.
All of Revelation is the narrative of the historical battle between the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast, against Messiah and His saints.
History unveils prophecy, so let’s see how this has played out during the history of our forefather’s of the faith:
Note: This is a summary study, to help you see the big picture. Links are provided to individual studies, which give the verse by verse explanation.
Revelation 12 describes the Roman Emperors being used by Satan to try to wipe out the Early Church, which was birthed in the 1st century.
Satan was exalted in the Roman Empire with all of their false god worship.
He empowered the Roman Emperors to persecute the early church.
Satan lost power over the Roman Empire (he was cast down from power) because of the seal judgments, which caused the decline of the Roman Empire due to civil wars, famine and pestilence.
Satan was enraged and he increased the severity of the persecution of the saints, to try to wipe out the early church; killing 10 million saints, during 10 periods of persecution period.
This is referred to in the 5th seal of Revelation, the martyrs of the Roman Empire, who were killed for their faith.
The last persecution period was the harshest when Emperor Diocletian tried to wipe out the early church during a 10 year period (the 10 days of the 5th seal, as 1 day = 1 year).
But Messiah’s church just kept growing, so Satan used Roman Emperor Constantine to create the Roman religion of Christianity, to seek to destroy the true church from the inside.
The falling away of 2 Thessalonians 2, that the Apostle Paul warned about, was fulfilled in the 4th century; when after hundreds of years of persecution, many of the saints fell away from the true faith, and apostatized, compromising their beliefs to join with Rome.
Roman Christianity is based on the worship of pagan gods, primarily the sun god; which is why Sunday became the first day of the week, and why the Roman Catholic Church has so many sun symbols, such as an Egyptian obelisk in the middle of St. Peter’s Square.
The 4th Trumpet judgment led to the Western Roman Emperor being removing from power.
Romulus Augustus was an emperor reigning over the Western Roman Empire from 31 October AD 475 until 4 September AD 476.
The Sun, Moon and Stars symbolizes leadership structure. Here it represents God using Odoacer and the Heruli, a branch of the Goths, to cause the downfall of Roman leadership when Romulus Augustalus, the last Roman Emperor (the Sun) of the West was captured in 476 A.D.
The hierarchy of Roman leaders, such as the Roman senate, (moon and stars) would have lost their power too.
His deposition by Odoacer traditionally marks the end of the Western Roman Empire, the fall of ancient Rome, and the beginning of the Middle Ages in Western Europe.
This marked the ‘deadly head wound’ that is mentioned in Revelation 13, as the office of the Western Roman Emperor ceased to exist.
The Little Horn of Daniel 7 points to the Pope of Rome, rising to power over the fallen Roman Empire.
Daniel 7:8 “I considered the (10) horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.”
It is describing a man who controls the Roman beast.
The 10 horns of the 4th beast of Daniel 7 foretold that the Roman Empire would split into 10 civil kingdoms, and that a Little Horn, the Popes of Rome, would rise up among them, and pluck out three of the kingdoms that did not bow down to his authority. They subdued and destroyed three of the ten kingdoms, the Heruli, the Ostrogoths and the Vandals.
Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.”
Daniel foretold that the Little Horn, the Popes of Rome would speak against Elohim, and they proclaimed to be God. They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 A.D.; during which they caused over 50 million saints to be killed.
The Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2 is the Popes of Rome, the restrainer was the Roman Emperors.
“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” Verse 4
The restrainer that the Apostle Paul was referring to was the Roman Emperors, who held back the Popes from taking power. Once the last Western Roman Emperor was removed from power in 476 A.D., the Popes rose to power, and were given civil and ecclesiastic authority over Rome; healing the deadly head wound, as they took the Emperors title of Pontifex Maximus, leader of the church and state. They sit among the followers of Messiah, which is the temple of God, and they proclaimed to be God.
Daniel and John described the Popes of Rome, who reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 A.D.
Once again we can see that John picked up the narrative of Daniel, about the Roman beast.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Daniel 7:25
“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” Revelation 13:5
Daniel, Paul and John all described the Popes of Rome, who have made pompous, blasphemous statements.
- Daniel 7:8 – “And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.“
- 2 Thessalonians 2:4 – “who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
- Revelation 13:5 – “And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.“
When the Popes of Rome were in power, they declared many blasphemous things:
declared “We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (Source: “Decretals of Gregory IX,” Book 1, chapter 3.)
Pope Pius V blasphemed, “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (Source: Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Cities Petrus Bertanous Chapter XXVII: 218.)
Pope Leo XIII declared, “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.”
(Source: Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894)
Revelation 17 describes the 8th king, the Popes of Rome, rising to power out of the Roman Empire.
“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.” Verse 3
Here is the same beast as Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 described, with 10 horns.
“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.” Verses 10-11
The seven kings represent the seven forms of government that existed in the Roman Empire, and the 8th represents the Popes of Rome who took power.
Five had passed. One was at the time, the Emperors of Rome. And one existed during the ‘short space’ between 476, when the last Roman Emperor was removed, and 538, when the Popes of Rome took power.
The 7 kings represent 7 forms of government of the Roman Empire. Five had passed when John wrote Revelation. The 6th was the Roman Emperors who reigned until 476 A.D. The 7th form ruled for a short time until the 8th king, the Popes of Rome, took power in 538 A.D.
The sea beast of Revelation 13, the Popes of Rome, rose up out of the people groups, out of the 10 civil kingdoms, that were created when the Roman Empire collapsed.
The antichrist sea beast of Revelation is the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, who controlled the Roman beast for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 A.D.
Look at how many times it describes a man: and the dragon gave him his power; and his deadly wound was healed’; who is able to make war with him?; And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months; And it was given unto him to make war with the saints.
“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” Verse 5
The Popes were given civil and ecclesiastic power as a church/state, and they took the Emperor’s title of Pontifex Maximus, and the ‘deadly head wound‘ was healed.
John is telling us the same thing as Daniel, that the Popes of Rome would reign for 1,260 years, and speaking blasphemies, proclaiming to be God and to forgive sins.
The 5th bowl judgment led to the Pope being removed from power.
The 5th Bowl was poured out on the seat of the beast, as the office of the Papacy lost their power in 1798 A.D.
Shortly after the French Revolution, the Papal States were invaded by French forces, and they removed Pope Pius VI, who died in exile in Valence (France) in 1799.
Their 1,260 year reign was ended by the hand of Elohim, but they repented not. They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores of losing their power.
The Jesuits caused Napoleon’s army to take the Pope captive. They did this out of vengeance, as the Pope had removed their power and authority in 1793.
Revelation 13 earth beast describes the Jesuit General rising to power out of the Vatican.
Theologian and Preacher John Wesley wrote, “The false prophet – So is the second beast frequently named, after the kingdom of the first is darkened; for he can then no longer prevail by main strength, and so works by lies and deceit.”
The ‘he’ of the earth beast of Revelation 13 is also a man, the office of the Jesuit General, the Black Pope of Rome, aka the false prophet. It is not pointing to a country like the U.S.A., but a man.
Look at how many times it describes a man: and he had two horns like a lamb; And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him; And he doeth great wonders; And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast; And he causeth all… to receive a mark; the number of the beast… the number of a man.
The two horns represents the two leaders of the Roman beast, the false prophet Jesuit General and the antichrist Pope of Rome. They are horns like a lamb, meaning they would pretend to be Christ-like, as they dress like priests; but they serve Satan, the dragon; and they deceive the world with their sorcery.
The Black Pope exercises his authority in front of white Pope, and they are using the authority of the Roman Catholic Church to draw the world under their power.
The top Jesuits pretend to be Christians (lamb-like), but they worship Satan the dragon. Jesuit priests have spread around the world to now cause 1.2 Billion Catholics to revere/worship the Pope, the beast, now by 666, which in Latin points to the Pope.
And Jesuit Pope Francis is now drawing Protestants, the Orthodox Church, Muslims, and all people groups under the power of Rome; causing the world to revere (mark on forehead) and obey (mark on right hand, actions) the Pope.
Revelation 19 describes the antichrist Pope and false prophet Jesuit General, the leaders of the Roman beast, being taken captive and thrown in the fiery pit.
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Revelation 19:19-20
The last antichrist beast Pope and false prophet Jesuit General, who will have enforced the mark of the beast in their One World Government; will be captured.
Once again it is pointing to two men, the antichrist Pope sea beast of Revelation 13, and the false prophet earth beast of Revelation 13.
So we can clearly see that Daniel, Paul and John; were all describing the leader of the Roman beast, who Satan empowers to fight against Messiah and His saints.
