He’s talking about the fifth trumpet judgment in Revelation 9.
Dr. John Barnett of DTBM it explaining Revelation is a purely literal manner.
He has a doctorate degree and people esteem this teacher as being smart, but it’s profoundly ignorant to not see that Messiah is using symbolic language to point to a literal fulfillment.
If you take Revelation only literally, you miss the fulfillment. If you take Revelation only symbolically, you miss the fulfillment. You have to understand how the Bible defines the symbols, typically in the Old Testament, to see the literal fulfillment.

Dr. John Barnett of DTBM says that it points to a Middle East furnace of smoke which darkens the world.
The fifth trumpet represents Elohim using the Arabian (Mohammedan) army against the Roman Empire from 612-762 AD, which is 150 years (5 months x 30 days = 150 days).
The ‘falling star’ was Mohammed, the ‘smoke’ out of Satan’s bottomless pit is the false religion of Islam, which hides the Gospel from Arabs eyes.

Dr. John Barnett of DTBM says that out of the smoke come locust, like horses, which can sting.
It’s not describing literal locust, which eat everything green. It’s pointing to the Arabs, which the Old Testament refers to as locust.
It’s telling us the location of the prophecy through the zoology, as horses, locust and scorpions all point to Arabia.
They wore turbans (crowns of gold); they had beards (faces of men, as the Roman shaved); they had long hair like women; they wore chain-mail (breast-plates of iron); and they were fierce (teeth of lions).
Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries teaches a false, futuristic fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel 9, the Olivet Discourse and the prophecies in Revelation.
The 70th week of Daniel 9 is about Messiah’s ministry and His blood sacrifice as the Spotless Lamb to atone for our sins. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
The Olivet Discourse foretold the events that would lead to the desolation of Jerusalem, the second temple and the Jewish nation; as punishment for the Jewish leaders continuing in rebellion against the Heavenly Father and for delivering His Son up to be killed. It has nothing to do with the antichrist or the end times.
Most of the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled in exacting detail during the last 1,900 years. It describes the historical narrative of the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom (pagan Emperors > antichrist beast Popes > false prophet Jesuit Superior Generals) fighting against Messiah and His saints.
The explanations of Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries serve to deflect blame away from the enemy in Rome, and to mislead the end-times saints so that they’re not prepared for how the end-times will play out, and don’t know the context of Messiah’s return.

Those in ministry like Dr. John Barnett are 100% aligned with their beliefs about the meanings of all of Revelation that they are next to near impossible to hear anything that differs. Even if what they hear is the truth.
As you said, he has a doctorate and so he must be smart, he must be the expert! Look at the number following him. They listen to him which is easier than to search God’s word by praying the Spirit to direct them. I think most people are like that. Most people seemed to be willing to follow the crowd. I guess that’s why the true path is narrow.

Hello Jackie 🙂 It’s hard to witness so many people blindly trust his explanations because of his doctorate. They think that he must know truth. Sadly, he’s an expert at explaining the false, futuristic explanations which were created by the enemy to deflect blame away from the Pope. It’s difficult to comprehend that he’s so ignorant of what the great theologians of the 16th-20th centuries proclaimed. The road is narrow indeed! David
