This Revelation Timeline Decoded Bible study shows how the Popes of Rome deny the Heavenly Father and Messiah, fulfilling John’s description in his epistles about the antichrist.
The title of ‘antichrist’ is not found in the book of Revelation, only in John’s epistles. This study will show you how the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, fulfill the description in John’s epistles.
To lay the foundation, I want to cite what Paul, Peter and Jude have proclaimed about false prophets and corrupt bishops.
In Titus 1:7-16, we see Paul contrasting blameless bishops with unruly vain-talking, deceiving, evil beasts.
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. The popes teach man-made concepts with are contrary to Scripture.
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
The bishops of Rome, the Popes, charge for indulgences and steal widows fortunes, for filthy lucre’s sake. They teach a false gospel of works through the sacraments, that Mary is the intercessor to the Father, and they symbolically carry out the Babylonian Mystery Religion of the worship of the sun god.
So we see that in Titus, the Apostle Paul is describing evil bishops who are unruly vain-talking, deceiving, evil beasts.
In 2 Peter 2, we see Peter talking about false prophets, saying that they are evil speaking brute beasts.
In the term false prophets, Peter is pointing to fake priests of Messiah.
2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
The Popes of Rome pretend to be priests of Messiah, but they teach false doctrine to subvert Him.
2:2-3 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
Peter is saying that false prophets, fake priests, are brute beasts.
2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
This matches the description of the man of sin, the son of perdition Popes whose man-made doctrine misleads both their priests and church members.
2:15-16 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
2:18-19 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
Jude 1 also points to ungodly men, brute beasts, creeping into the church.
3-4 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
We see that Messiah, Paul, Peter, Jude and John all point to false prophets, corrupt bishops of Messiah, who speak evil things, blaspheme and pervert the Gospel; who are called beasts.
Keeping in mind that a beast is an unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil; let’s look at what Daniel foretold about the evil-speaking Popes of Rome.
Daniel 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
Daniel is pointing to the fourth beast kingdom, the Roman beast, and then he narrows down the description to the leader of the beast kingdom.
Daniel 7:20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
Daniel 7:24-25 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Keeping in mind that a beast is an unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil; let’s look at what Paul foretold about these evil-speaking Popes of Rome, calling them the man of sin, the son of perdition in 2 Thessalonians 2.
3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
9-10 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Keeping in mind that a beast is an unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil; let’s look at what John proclaims in Revelation. The sea beast narrative in Revelation 13 is pointing to the antichrist beast Popes who were given civil authority for 1260 years, from 538-1798 AD.
5-6 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
By that we can see that the Pope of Rome fulfill prophecy as the little horn of Daniel 7 and the son of perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2; who blaspheme and oppose the Heavenly Father; aligning with the term ‘beast.’
Let’s clarify the term ‘beast’ in Revelation 13.
Some prophecy teachers proclaim that a beast always points to a kingdom, so they say that the two beasts of Revelation 13, the sea beast and the earth beast, are two different kingdoms.
Many SDA’s and other historicists rightly say that the sea beast is pointing to the Roman Popes, who rose to power over the sea of people of the ten kingdoms of the fallen Roman Empire. But then they say that the earth beast of Revelation 13 is the USA, which rose to power out of a relatively unpopulated land (earth).
But in The Beasts Of Daniel study, I show that Daniel is only pointing to four beast kingdoms: Babylon > Medo-Persia > Greece > Rome. And he says with the fourth beast kingdom stays in power until Messiah returns to destroy it. So it makes no sense that John is talking about a different beast kingdom in Revelation.
In the Revelation Timeline Decoded video series, I’ve shown that John picks up the narrative of the Roman beast kingdom; describing the Satan-empowered leaders of the different phases.
Revelation 12 describes the pagan Roman Emperors who Satan used to try to wipe out Messiah’s Ekklesia of saints during ten persecution periods. Satan lost power in the spiritual realm, as the seal judgments caused the decline of the Roman Empire.
After the last Western Roman Emperor (the restrainer of 2 Thessalonians 2) was removed from power in 476 AD as part of the fourth trumpet judgment, it gave rise to the Popes of Rome taking power over the Roman beast kingdom. The office of the Western Roman Emperor ended, which was ‘the deadly head wound.’
That leads us to Revelation 13 in which two beasts are described. John is still describing the leaders of the Roman beast kingdom during the different phases.
The language can be confusing because John seems to be pointing to new beasts, but John is building on what Paul, Peter and Jude have already proclaimed, which helps us see the fulfillment of Revelation 13.
Given that a beast can point to an unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil, Revelation 13:1-10 is describing the Popes who rose to power over the sea of people of the ten kingdoms of the fallen Roman Empire. This is the same narrative of the little horn of Daniel 7, as the Pope demanded that the ten kings bow to his authority. The Popes were given civil authority to reign in power for 1260-years from 538-1798 AD.
The antichrist beast Popes took the title of the Emperors, that of Pontifex Maximus, the leader of church and state over the Roman beast kingdom, healing the deadly head wound.
The ‘he’ and ‘him’ pronouns are pointing to the unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil beast leader of the Roman kingdom, the Pope.

So when we come to the narrative of the earth beast in Revelation 13:11-18 we’re not looking for another kingdom, but another pope, another unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil.
When the Black Pope caused the White Pope to removed from civil power in 1798 AD as part of the fifth vial judgment, he could not openly rule in the Vatican, as people understood the evil nature of the Society of Satan; as they had been kicked out of many countries for subversion, including primarily Catholic countries.
So the black Pope uses the white Pope as the spokesman to proclaim a false Gospel and gather the world under their authority.
The white Pope is called ‘the beast’ by John, so he calls the second beast Pope the ‘false prophet.’
The earth beast narrative points to two horns, two leaders, the false prophet Jesuit Superior Generals and antichrist beast Popes. The black Popes and the white Popes feign to be priests of Messiah (like a lamb) but they really serve Satan (the dragon) to make war with Messiah and His saints.

We see this unholy trinity in the sixth vial of Revelation 16:13-14.
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
And we see Satan’s two end-times, evil leaders again in Revelation 19:19-20.
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Daniel, Paul and John, all point to the Popes of Rome being a false prophet, a corrupt bishop, who speaks against the Heavenly Father and Messiah.
Now that we see how the Popes of Rome fulfill Bible prophecy as the little horn of Daniel 7, the son of perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2 and the beast of Revelation, let’s see how they full John’s description of the antichrist in his epistles.
Here’s the verses in which John uses the title of antichrist:
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:18-23
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:2-3
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 1:7
The main focus is that the antichrist denies the Heavenly Father and Messiah, with the focus on denying that Messiah came in the flesh.
The Popes teach a false gospel of works through the sacraments, which denies the pure Gospel that salvation is through faith in Messiah’s atoning work alone. During the Dark Ages, they banned and burned the Scriptures to hide the pure Gospel.
The Popes deny that Messiah came in the flesh, because they teach that Mary was born without a sin nature, nor did she sin during her life. If Messiah didn’t have a human, sinful nature, then it negates His fulfillment of the law without sin. And if Mary didn’t sin, it denies that Messiah is the only sinless One.
The Popes deny Messiah by teaching that Mary is the intercessor, the advocate, to the Father; which denies Messiah His rightful place as the one intercessor to the Father.
The Popes deny Messiah by teaching that Mary is the co-redeemer of the saints; which denies that the Heavenly Father redeems the set-apart saints through His Son alone.
The Popes deny Messiah by proclaiming to be the high priest of His Church; which denies that Messiah is our High Priest who ministers in the heavenly temple for us.
The Popes have denied Messiah by proclaiming that salvation is through their Roman Catholic Church alone, and no other way. And now they teach that all religions lead to the same God. This denies the Father and the Son.
The Popes deny Messiah’s one-time blood sacrifice for all of our sins, by sacrificing Him over and over during their blasphemous Eucharist ceremony; which renders His one-time atonement as without effect. They proclaim to pull Him down from heaven to sacrifice Him in an unbloody sacrifice.
The Popes deny openly mock Him by keeping Him on the cross. Galatians 3:13 says ‘cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.’ 666 in the Greek language is ‘Chi Xi Stigma’ which represents ‘Christ nailed to a cross.’ The Roman crucifix is a wicked graven image of the antichrist beast Popes!
The Popes deny the Heavenly Father by causing Catholics to violate the second commandment in making and bowing to graven images. They even removed the second commandment from their list, then split the tenth in two.
The Popes have proclaimed that they can forgive sins and provide salvation, which is blasphemy and it denies that salvation is through faith in Messiah alone.
The Popes wear a zucchetti cap and the mitre on their head when they teach and pray, violating 1 Corinthians 11:3-4, “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head (which is Christ).” They are symbolically denying Messiah as their head, and the round cap of Cybele shows that they revere pagan gods.
We see how the word beast applies to the Pope of Rome, a false priest who pretends to serve Messiah to better make war with His saints. And we can see how the Popes fulfill John’s description of the antichrist in his epistles.
The narrative of Daniel 7, 2 Thessalonians 2, John’s epistles and Revelation, is fairly straight-forward, as they’re all pointing to the primary person who both proclaims the take the place of Christ, but teaches concepts which are contrary to Christ and makes war with the followers of Christ; all of which is anti-Christ.
The Popes fulfill the description of the antichrist in John’s epistles. They fulfill the description of a beast, as an unruly, vain-talking, deceiver who speaks evil. So we see that they are the (antichrist) beast of Revelation.

I prove out the historical fulfillment of most of the prophecies in Revelation during the last 1,900 years, which validates that THE antichrist beast is fulfilled by the office of the papacy.
Messiah’s apocalyptic vision is a war manual, designed to hide the explanation from those who should not understand it. It uses symbolic words that are defined in the Old Testament to point to a literal fulfillment. If you read Revelation only from a literal perspective, the interpretation is hidden.
