This Revelation Timeline Decoded post is about the overcomers of Revelation 3:21.
When I see how Christians today are believing in a futuristic 70th week of Daniel 9, a futuristic one-man antichrist, and that most of Revelation will be fulfilled during the last 7 or 3 1/2 years, I’m reminded of what Messiah said about the end times church era of Laodicea:
“Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17
Those who pray for the truth of prophecy fulfillment and search it out, fulfill Messiah’s words in Revelation 3:18.
“I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
In Revelation 3:21, Messiah says:
“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”
In order to be an overcomer who will sit on a throne to reign by the power of Messiah, you have to understand the fulfillment of prophecy, so that you can expose the deceptions of the false prophet and antichrist beast, to cast them down from power, to set the captives free, for a glorious harvest for the kingdom!
Otherwise, your misunderstanding of prophecy fulfillment will leave you without the oil of Scriptural truth, so that you will be as the foolish virgins whose lamps are not lit, who can’t see and will be exposed by their false beliefs and caught off guard by the enemy’s plans and by Messiah’s return.
There’s an epic spiritual war taking place right now, but the Society of Satan in Rome has lulled many of Messiah’s saints to sleep, so that they don’t fight and they dream that Messiah will return to rescue them.
Messiah is glorified when His saints win the war in His name and by His power. Wake up oh sleepers! Take up the sword of Scriptural truth and defeat the enemy!
Messiah’s apocalyptic vision is a war manual, designed to hide the explanation from those who should not understand it. It uses symbolic words that are defined in the Old Testament to point to a literal fulfillment. If you read Revelation only from a literal perspective, the interpretation is hidden.
Understanding the vision is like taking a Biblical final exam. If you’ve read the whole Word, you will have seen the symbolism that Messiah uses and can apply it to the fulfillment.
If you read Revelation as one chronological narrative, the prophecies seem out of sequence. That’s because it has four chronological layers, each of which spans from when it was written until Messiah returns.
This book explains the prophecies of Revelation on a timeline to help you see how the four chronological layers interact with each other, so that you can comprehend the whole vision.
You will learn how to identify who fulfills the role of the son of perdition, the antichrist beast, the false prophet, and the harlot called ‘Mystery, Babylon the Great.’ You will understand the proper context of the seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments; the little book of Revelation 10, and the two witnesses of Revelation 11.
Whether you’re a novice at Bible prophecy or someone who has studied it extensively, I provide an explanation that is easy to understand yet has the depth of verse by verse explanations to provide you the evidence you need to prove it out.
David,
Although a good understanding of prophecy will help us to identify the enemy and God adds a blessing to all who look to understand it (Rev.1:3), however It is our faith that overcomes the world, not a proper understanding of prophecy. (1John 5:4) The understanding of the endtimes, even within the historic approach camp, there are people who differ about the timing and the events in Revelation. However I think I understand what you are trying to say when you talk about a proper understanding as I also speak to so many Christians who wait for the Rapture before the 7 years of tribulation and think the Temple of God is the Third temple in Jerusalem and so on. I don’t subscribe to that anymore. My desire is to know the truth and that journey has been for me a process. I never heard of the historic approach of revelation, but your site gave me a new perspective as mentioned in an earlier comment. I don’t take everything you write for gospel as I want to do my own research, but you definitely gave me things to think about.
Martin, the proper understanding of prophecy fulfillment validates the Bible and the deity of Messiah, which provides tangible evidence for our faith. This is why the enemy has worked hard to hide the truth, and why I labor to reveal the glorious truth.
As you noted, most people are believing the most of Revelation is fulfilled during a future 7-year tribulation. That’s why I wrote The 70th Week Of Daniel 9 Decoded book first, to help people see the glorious truth of the fulfillment and the deception that’s based on it.
That’s great that you have eyes to see and are doing research about the historical fulfillment of most of Revelation during the last 1,900 years. The historicist narrative is what the great theologians of the 16th-20th century taught. It’s only during the last century that the false, futuristic explanation have become so popular.
