This Revelation Timeline Decoded post shows my answer about Preterism to someone in a Facebook prophecy fulfillment group.
Someone asked this question is a different prophecy group. “What proof is there that the Preterist explanation of the fulfillment of Revelation is wrong?” Preterists believe that Nero was the antichrist and that all of Revelation was fulfilled during the first century.
That most of the prophecies in Revelation have already been fulfilled during the last 1,900 years, as the Satan-empowered leaders of the Roman beast kingdom, the fourth beast kingdom of Daniel 2 and 7, have fought against Messiah and His saints.
The pagan Roman Emperors tried to wipe out the early church, killing millions during ten persecution periods. The seal judgments describe the decline of the Roman Empire from bloody civil wars, economic strife, famine, pestilence and death.
The trumpet judgments describe army after army being sent against it which led to its fall when the Ottoman Empire used cannons (fire, smoke and brimstone) to knock down the thick protective walls of Constantinople.
The antichrist beast Popes reigned in power for 1260 years from 538-1798 and banned and burned the Scriptures and caused tens of millions of saints to be killed during the Dark Ages and the Inquisition.
And now the false prophet, the Black Pope, is the leader of the earth beast phase of the Roman beast kingdom, as he rose to power out of the land (earth) of the Vatican. He uses the White Pope as the front man, to hide his power. These two leaders (horns) pretend to be priests of Messiah (like a lamb), but they serve Satan (the dragon).
The Black Pope controls the world through many front organizations such as Freemasonry, the Illuminati, the Knights of Malta, etc.; which he is using to push the world into their One World Gov.
There’s not much left in Revelation to be fulfilled before Messiah returns. The historical fulfillment of most of the prophecies in Revelation during the last 1,900 years proves the concept of Preterism as false.
Preterism was created by the Jesuits to deflect blame away from the Popes, as the Protestant Reformers all proclaimed that the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, fulfill Bible prophecy as the ‘little horn‘ of Daniel 7, the ‘son of perdition‘ of 2 Thessalonians 2, and the ‘antichrist beast‘ of Revelation 13, who leads the ‘harlot‘ church of Rome.

Messiah’s apocalyptic vision is a war manual, designed to hide the explanation from those who should not understand it.
