Palestine Never Existed Reasoning From Zionist Christians Refuted

This Revelation Timeline Decoded study refutes the claim made by Christian Zionists that Palestine never existed.

The Promised Land Was Called Palestine.

Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head; Joel 3:4

Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent. Isaiah 14:29

The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. Exodus 15:14

When you reference the Strong’s Hebrew word for Jerusalem in the Old Testament, it says that Jerusalem is the capital city of Palestine.

After a second Jewish revolt, Judea was renamed Syria Palaestina by the Roman Empire in 132 AD.

Since then the land has been conquered by many people groups, and has been a country within a bigger Empire, always controlled by someone else; so they do not have a long list of kings like other countries.

But all we have to do is look at the evidence to see that the land has been called Palestine for thousands of years, making the people living there Palestinians.

Christians Zionists say that the area was basically empty with a few Muslims living in it, when the Jews were given the land.

But the evidence shows a thriving culture, where Palestinians, Jews and Christians, lived in harmony with one another.

Here is the May 16, 1948 edition of The Palestine Post, proclaiming the U.N. creation of the State of Israel. It was published by the Zionists, but it clearly acknowledges that the land at that time was called Palestine. In 1950 its name was changed to The Jerusalem Post

The Palestine Post 1948

Here are some quotes from David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel, about a place called PALESTINE:

Everybody sees the problem in the relations between the Jews and the Arabs. But not everybody sees that there’s no solution to it. There is no solution! . . . The conflict between the interests of the Jews and the interests of the Arabs in PALESTINE cannot be resolved by sophisms. I don’t know any Arabs who would agree to PALESTINE being ours—even if we learn Arabic . . .and I have no need to learn Arabic. On the other hand, I don’t see why ‘Mustafa’ should learn Hebrew. . . . There’s a national question here. We want the country to be ours. The Arabs want the country to be theirs.” (One Palestine Complete, p. 116)

The Arab community in PALESTINE is an organic, inseparable part of the landscape. It is embedded in the country. The Arabs work the land, and will remain.” Ben-Gurion even held that the Palestinian Arabs had full rights in PALESTINE, “since the only right by which a people can claim to possess a land indefinitely is the right conferred by willingness to work.” They had the same opportunity to establish that right as the Zionists did. (Shabtai Teveth, p. 5-6)

There is a conflict, a great conflict.” not in the economic but the political realm. “There is fundamental conflict. We and they want the same thing: We both want PALESTINE. And that is the fundamental conflict.” (Shabtai Teveth, p. 166)

“Within then the next twenty years, we must have a Jewish majority in PALESTINE.” (Shabtai Teveth, p. 43)

PALESTINE is not an empty country . . . on no account must we injure the rights of the inhabitants.” Ben-Gurion often returned to this point, emphasizing that Palestinian Arabs had “the full right” to an independent economic, cultural, and communal life, but not political. (Shabtai Teveth, p. 37-38)

In 1947 the United Nations created a Partition Plan for Palestine.

In 1947 they recommended a partition with Economic Union of Mandatory Palestine to follow the termination of the British Mandate. It was called the Palestine Plan of Partition with economic union proposed by the ad hoc committee on the Palestinian question.

Highlights from the Encyclopedia.com page on Palestine:

From east to west, Palestine proper comprises three geographic zones: the depression—northernmost extension of the Great Rift Valley—in which lies the Jordan River, Lake Hula, the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberias), the Dead Sea, and the Arabah, a dry valley S of the Dead Sea;

Palestine at the time of Jesus was ruled by puppet kings of the Romans, the Herods (see Herod). When the Jews revolted in AD 66, the Romans destroyed the Temple (AD 70). Another revolt between AD 132 and 135 was also suppressed (see Bar Kokba, Simon), Jericho and Bethlehem were destroyed, and the Jews were barred from Jerusalem. When Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity (312), Palestine became a center of Christian pilgrimage, and many Jews left the region. Palestine over the next few centuries generally enjoyed peace and prosperity until it was conquered in 614 by the Persians. It was recovered briefly by the Byzantine Romans, but fell to the Muslim Arabs under caliph Umar by the year 640.

In the 9th cent., Palestine was conquered by the Fatimid dynasty, which had risen to power in North Africa. The Fatimids had many enemies—the Seljuks, Karmatians, Byzantines, and Bedouins—and Palestine became a battlefield. Under the Fatimid caliph al Hakim (996–1021), the Christians and Jews were harshly suppressed, and many churches were destroyed.

In 1099, Palestine was captured by the Crusaders (see Crusades), who established the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. The Crusaders were defeated by Saladin at the battle of Hittin (1187), and the Latin Kingdom was ended; they were finally driven out of Palestine by the Mamluks in 1291. Under Mamluk rule Palestine declined.

In 1516 the Mamluks were defeated by the Ottoman Turks. The first three centuries of Ottoman rule isolated Palestine from outside influence. In 1831, Muhammad Ali, the Egyptian viceroy nominally subject to the Ottoman sultan, occupied Palestine.

Highlights from the Jewish Encyclopedia on Palestine:

The portion of Syria which was formerly the possession of the Israelites. It includes the whole of the country between the River Jordan and the Mediterranean as well as the country immediately to the east of the Jordan.

In the course of time the term “Palestine” superseded the longer “Palestinian Syria,” and it is used with this connotation by Josephus and Philo, while Vespasian officially designated the country as “Palestine” on the coins which he struck after the suppression of the Jewish insurrection in 70 C.E.

Wikipedia history pages about Palestine

In 1917 and 1918 Palestine was liberated from the Ottoman Empire by the British. The League of Nations then gave the British a Mandate (basically a management contract) over the country of Palestine in 1923. The newly liberated country celebrated by issuing its own money, its own passports and all the other documentation of a state. Even though ultimate authority lay with the British, so there was no Palestinian head of state.

Mandatory Palestine existed from 1920-1948, and they even had a flag https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandatory_Palestine

To declare that Palestine never existed is to deny the Bible and deny thousands of years of history in the area called Palestine.

People say that Palestine was never an official country so it has never really existed. That’s ironic, as we can look at the history of the land to see that it was controlled by foreign nations through most of its history, which means that there was no official nation called Israel.

In 701 BCE – Assyrian Ruler Sennacherib laid siege to Jerusalem.

The Babylonian Period 586-539 BC) – In 586 BC, the Babylonians took Jerusalem, destroyed the temple and burned down the city.

The Persian Period (539-322 BC) – In 539 AD, Persian ruler Cyrus the Great conquered the Babylonian Empire and took control of the land.

The Hellenistic Period (332-141 BC)  – Greek Leader Alexander the Great conquered Judea and Jerusalem.

The Hasmonean Period (141-37 BC) –

The Herodian Period (37 BC – 70 AD) – The land was called Judea in the first century and the Romans controlled it, so it wasn’t an independent country.

The Roman Period (70 – 324 AD) – The Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in 70 AD. After a second Jewish revolt, the Romans renamed the area Syria Palaestina.

The Byzantine Period (324-638 AD) – The Byzantine Empire was established in the Eastern part of the Roman Empire, including the Holy Land.

The First Muslim Period (638-1099 AD) – In the 7th century AD, the Muslim conquest of the Levant established caliphal rule. They built the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosques on what is called the temple mount. It’s really the mount of where Roman Antonia Fortress stood. The temple was completely destroyed, including the mount.

The Crusader Period (1099-1187 AD) – The first Crusaders captured Jerusalem

The Ayyubid Period (1187-1259 AD) – In 1187 AD, Saladin captured Jerusalem from the Crusaders.

The Mamluk Period (1250-1516 AD) – The land was controlled by the Mamluks.

The Ottoman Period (1516-1917 AD) – The Ottoman Empire captured Jerusalem. The Ottomans controlled the land of Palestine until General Allenby took possession of it in the early 20th century.

The British Mandate (1917-1948 AD) – The British captured Jerusalem in World War I. The Balfour Agreement gave control of Palestine to Lord Rothschild.

The Palestinians are not all Arabs as some people believe.  They have some Arab blood from marriage intermingling, but they are a unique people group.

People from the House of Israel had regathered in the areas where they used to live prior to Messiah’s ministry, as Messiah declared that He came for the lost tribes of Israel and He spent most of His time in the area of Galilee.

Messiah fulfilled the promise in Isaiah 9 to the House of Israel that the light of the Anointed One would shine on them. He proclaimed the Gospel in the region where the House of Israel had regathered.

And more from the House of Israel may have returned after the Jews were desolated by the Roman Empire in 70 AD. So it would not surprise me to find out that they are in fact descendants of Abraham, who are being persecuted by people who are not.

To see how the Khazar Jews in modern-day Israel fit into Bible prophecy, and how many Jews in Israel are Jew by religion, not blood, read Revelation 16 – 6th Bowl Judgment
